Our mission is to help you build a company people love.
Be outcome-oriented.
“That’s not my job” is not a phrase you’ll hear at Help Scout. Ownership means pushing towards greatness together, regardless of title, role, and responsibility.
Helpfulness means it’s all about the other person. It’s less about being over-the-top friendly and more about giving people what they need in the moment so they can move to the next thing. It’s about letting people know you’re there without getting in the way.
Stay customer-driven.
Everyone at Help Scout is aligned in our motivation to help our customers find success. We’d never sacrifice product quality or the customer experience for growth.
We’re passionate about diversity and inclusion.
The data is abundantly clear about diverse teams being more successful, and we're dedicated to setting the team up for success. Today our leadership team is 62% women, and that's just the start. Here’s our 2019 report.
We're leaving the world better than we found it.
Did you know Help Scout is a certified B Corporation, with a mission to give away at least 1% of our product through Help Scout for Good? Our company exists not just to help ourselves, but to invest in our team, our customers, our community, and our environment.
While Help Scout has a small office in Boston, our entire team is free to work remotely from wherever they choose.
Since we’re a remote company, the glue that binds together our hiring process from start to finish is video chat. Here’s what our process looks like.
Value add - You'll have a video call with the hiring manager to get to know you and see if you have potential to be a great addition to the team.
Tech screen You’ll have a video call with one of your potential teammates to dive into more questions around skills and experience.
Logistics chat - You'll have a video call with a People Ops teammate to go over fun things like salary expectations, the benefits we offer, and dig into our company culture.
Take-home project - At this stage, you'll receive a relevant take-home project that gives you a chance to showcase your skills (and we'll pay you for your time).
Final chat - You’ll have one more video call, likely with someone from our leadership team.
References - We ask to chat with three references. Preferably, at least two should be previous managers.
Offer - We make an offer to a candidate we feel is the best addition to our team!
20 roles across all teams and all locations
